How to Teach This: Resources for Teaching Gerontological Nursing

Ease of use, practical, accessible

This website provides teaching resources for school of nursing faculty who want to include content on older adults in their curricula:

  • Short topical assignments, such as functional status assessment

  • Assignments to fit into existing courses such as Community Health, Health Assessment, Acute Care, Chronic Care, Med/Surg, Nursing Fundamentals and Health Promotion

  • Complete gerontological nursing courses

  • Movies, books and other media resources with annotations and suggestions for use in specific courses

    • These resources have been developed by faculty from in the Northwest Coalition of Geriatric Nursing Education. All resources are tried and tested and formatted to be user-friendly by the Coalition's Education Committee.
